A Center of Innovation
As a Center of Innovation within Insight Net, Emory CIDMATH is developing new analytical methods, data, tools, and modeling platforms to inform public health decision-making. All this work feeds into Insight Net, a nationwide network for outbreak analytics, disease modeling, and forecasting to support more effective responses during public health emergencies.
Fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence
Emory CIDMATH fosters innovation, collaboration, and excellence in infectious disease modeling and analytics. We work closely with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and community partners to:
- Design and Implement Analytical Tools: We develop cutting-edge analytical methods, tools, and platforms to enhance disease modeling efforts. Our goal is to provide decision-makers with accurate, real-time information on infectious diseases, including during public health emergencies.
- Generate Critical Data Streams: CIDMATH generates novel data streams that inform epidemiologists, researchers, and policymakers. By combining data science and infectious disease expertise, we contribute to effective outbreak response.
- Train the Next Generation: We offer both short-term training programs and experiential fellowships for infectious disease epidemiologists and modelers in advanced methods.
Impact
Our work at CIDMATH provides valuable data and insights that will help shape effective disease control responses and policies. Through our research and training, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the fight against infectious diseases.
CIDMATH is advancing the science of infectious disease modeling and outbreak analytics. We aim to make our innovations, tools, and data accessible and usable by public health practitioners.
